The Legacy of Whopper Jr

I'd believe its a $1500 truck now. Nice work.

might not be perfect in your eyes but its a pretty respectable little truck thats for sure.

That's almost unbelievable. lol

As others have said, I'm amazed that thing cleaned up that well! Good score!

I'd believe its a $1500 truck now. Nice work.

Thanks guys!! I am uploading the new pics now, I'll post them as soon as photobucket decides to work

SO whats under the tarp on iroks in the first and second pic.

An S10 cabbed truggy from the Inner Air Lock guys. There is nothing but the actual cab left. v8 powered, but don't remember anything else about it. It's probably on their site somewhere

cool cool. the club i wheel with is planning a trip to the island this summer. never been there but it looks like a good time. never been one for much rock crawling but it should be fun. still need to do ALOT to the explorer before it makes the trip

new pics posted in original post. night guys

Great work man. It's unbelievable what people will do to cars sometimes..especially one that isn't even that old (to me)!

Me either buddy. The newest vehicle i have ever owned is my 06 Harley. The next newest was a 2002 F150.

Anything over mid 90s is game for me!

you werent kidding, that brushguard was seriously tacked in place lol

cleaned up nice, i cant believe the PO painted it to begin with

said that it was stolen and the theif painted it to hide from the PO. I dunno if he was telling the truth or not, but that is what he said.

Airbag light, look and see if the passenger cut off switch light is burnt out.

ABS light and speedo are probably directly related to the rear end vibe, affecting the ABS sensor/VSS on top of the pumpkin. 4.10s with LS would be my choice. 3.0's love rpms and 4.10s with a 29" tire would make it peppy around town and still decent highway mileage.

I have the 2000 EVTM, same as the 99, if you want it PM me your e-mail address.

I love to see a cheap truck come back to life.
I'll remember that acetone tip.
Kudos!

thanks brother! I absolutely want it! now.... How to fix that airbag light cutoff switch... It is bad.

It has plenty of pep, i am pretty sure the rear end isn't stock, as it is bright blue. I think i want to pull the cover and check to see if any bearings are burnt out (That is what it feels like) or if the driveshaft is out of balance. If you guys have ever dealt with one of those issues, you know the vibration i am talking about.

So the weekend before last, i drove up to Newport, KY (Cinci area) to pick up a bedcover for D. On the way, the bad ass dual exhaust that was "fabbed" up decided it was too constricted.... So it broke. The PO made a y pipe that has broken twice already. Due to this, i decided to cap the broken side off, and turn it into a single exhaust.

While i was under the truck, i grabbed the driveshaft to pull my fat ass under the truck and it fawking moved! :shok: not spun, moved. so i grabbed the driveshaft and shook it! The front ujoint was completely toast. Replaced the u joints, and took the truck down the road. No more vibration. We have put around 4,000 miles on this truck since we got it and this ujoint stayed together. I don't know how.

My mom decided to give the truck back to me. She said she never drove it, and we evidently needed it more than them, so she gave it back. Free seat covers and carpet! Wahoo! I told her they could use it anytime they wanted.

I had bought a donor for my Frame off restoration on D-Ranged. I decided to use some junk from it to help out this little guy.

Since i had a "perfectly" good rear end under the parts truck, decided i would throw it under this truck. The new rear had bigger brakes, and the wheel studs on the one in the truck were stripped. only thing is the donor was an auto, this is a manual, so it's going to be geared a lot lower.

Here is a shot of one of the drums

I also found out why the shocks sucked....

The new rear had some VERY used shoes, as in, completely smoked. As we were getting ready to bleed the system, my little cousin snaps off the bleeder screw. So tore the drum back down and replaced the wheel cylinder. Flushed everything and called it good.

Here is a shot with the bed removed, new rear installed.

There is a lot of rust...

I also put the XLT rims and almost brand new tires on from the donor truck, and painted the grille satin black.

I now have a speedometer again, odometer again, no violent shaking when hitting the brakes, much better ride, and an all around better driving truck.
