The Juice Box Revival (Blake.'s BII Build)

quick question. will f150 coils swap EASILY into the front end of my B2? i just remembered my dad has an extra pair of coils that came out of his 93 f150 4x4. just a random thought. they're kinda buried in the back of the shop so i couldnt exactly size em up to compare. just wondering if they'd be worth digging out.

notes:
tech library is awesome.
stop asking stuff that i havent looked for.
f150 coils work.

A couple of the things I did when doing the heads on mine were stripping the intakes of all sensors and really cleaning the insides of them out. I also took a dremel tool and smoothed out some rough areas in the castings. Mine was getting 24 to 26 MPG after it was all said and done. Porting (which isn't EXACTLY what I did will give great gains in performance and efficiency. What I did was loosely taken from the pages of Sven's book.

there's a guy on another board i'm on and he tells me he has

an upper and lower intake that I had bought and was gonna port and polish and never did. It also has an 87-88 tb on it which is bigger than the one that you have on the truck. If you want you can have the whole thing just pay for shipping.

would it be worth the trouble?

I belive your TB being the 86 is the larger. Having an extra set may not be a bad idea. You can send one off for port and polish and still have the truck running. I snapped a couple of valve cover bolts so I had to pick up a replacement lower, having it there may not be a bad idea when you get to your leaks if the same should happen.

ok. so... its been a while...

i got caught up in lots and lots and lots of BS.

well, things have gotten less insane and tomorrow im getting back on the bronco.

i havent been able to get it to crank so thats first on the list for tomorrow and hopefully i can get those f150 springs in there too.

so if anything interesting happens i'll get pics and post up. hope i can finally make some freaking progress!

so after catching myself on fire the b2 is running again!

had to fix some hacked wiring the previous owner did on the fuel pressure pump? (i think that's what it is.) its mounted on the frame in line between the tank and the filter.

still left to do:

fan. i'm debating on whether or not to wire the electric fan i have or get the stock fan clutch assembly.
front springs
valve cover gaskets
right rear wheel cylinder
weld holes in floor
and figure out why i have no low beams

i believe thats all i have to do to get it road ready.
so next weekend i hope to make a little more progress!

Sounds like it's coming along! Sounds driveable too (unless that wheel cyl is completely shot).

Personally, I would just put on another man fan from a junk yard. Maybe even a new clutch. they're going for around 30 bucks on rockauto.com

Ahh, so suffer the slings and arrows. lol

The electric fan is cool if you have all the parts already but, as I have been doing with my build, I am sourceing cheap used parts for the sake of getting the thing right before going hog wild on parts. I got burned before so I am leary. Figure once it is right I can go through and replace some of the fancy stuff like the electric fan for example.
Good luck, keep up the updates.

i've driven it up and down the dirt road. it rides like poo bc of the front springs. they're too soft and the front end is completely bottomed out on the shocks. but i have some 4x4 f150 coils i'm planning on swapping in this weekend if the rain holds off. the wheel cylinder is noticeably leaky but the breaks feel tight. but i went ahead and bought a new one anyways. one less thing to worry about.

i looked into getting a fan clutch and all that jazz. pretty cheap and will most likely save some trouble.

most likely i'll just do the stock fan get up and hold on to the electric one just bc i never can seem to git rid of anything. lol

will keep updates coming. hopefully i'll have some pic worthy stuff come saturday.

interested in seeing some pics with the coils on! good to hear you got it running, ill be watching
