The Horse with no name...

Get a elec tester, test for continuity of the ground. If it's bad then trace it to the grounding point. Replace the wire if needed. It's probably a common ground so it would need to be re-soldered.
If it becomes that big of of a deal ground it on the frame at the pump.
You said you have power so that's covered.

I understand what you're saying and I did all that. But its a little late now. The truck is gone and I have moved onto a 96 extra cab with a 4.0 and 4wd. Might be turning this one into a TRS-2 clone. Still thinking about what direction I want to go.

I have a 4wd 98 with a 4.0 it's pretty fun. It's my dd, I'm gonna SAS it this winter.

I want to see how you go about doing this. I still have the dana 30 I pulled out of the 97 XJ cherokee that I want to do my SAS with.

Yeah no problem! I'll document everything I do! I'm either gonna go with a 79 bronco HP D44 or a Waggoneer LP D44. I've got both but the HP has 4.10's while the LP has brand new 4.88's and lockrite locker. For the rear end I'll be using a 9"
