The gun thread...

600 yards.

Hey you guys....stupied re-question.....i forgot the answer to the last one...i'm still lookinfg for an old octagon barrel lever action rifle that i can hug while watching cowboy movies....anybody got one for sale that'll still shoot....being a machinist...I can tighten it up...looking to spend a couple hundred on one with a straight barrel--can be pitted, chipped stock, etc....as long as it'll fire safely....

Weapons are like lottery tickets........you only need one......just as long as it's the RIGHT ONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is no such thing as a cheap octagon lever action rifle...

Replicas are out there, and really not priced all that bad compared to an original. If you forget the octigon part, a Mossberg 464 will set you back $400 for a brand new gun. They took the best parts of the Marlin and Wincester and combined them into one gun... someday I am going to get me one.

Them are mighty long odds for a either a lever gun or a six-shooter...

Here is a nice brand new Henry (used in a bunch of movies and was a big player in the old west)

1894, probably your best bet for findng cheap used, they are extensively used in cowboy action shooting since they usually fire pistol rounds, also available with octagon barrel.

So here's a small portion of the new stuff I got. Lots of tank ammunition, some 50 and 30 cal, 8mm mg linked ammo. Two original (one ww1 1918 and one ww2 1945) cartridge belts with original dated canteens. WW1 and 2 ammo cans. Tons more to come...

Also, a bunch of somewhat rare german 7.92x56 rounds. I have yet to find the rifle that shoots these, but i'm working on it.

Nice collection you have going there! I'll have to get a pic of my stuff. I have stuff from about 2mm up to 120mm. Used to be able to pick munitions up pretty cheap! No more though.

shhhhhhhhhhhhh........nancy peelowsi might be watching!!!!!!!!

Well I bet Ms Nancy Fancy Pants would have a big hissy fit if she saw that 100 lb bomb sitting right in the living room. No joke, moved into my dorm room in '65' and they had a practice bomb still hanging from the ceiling, didn't take it with them. Had a couple of really nice 3.5" Bazooka rounds a couple of years ago. That was a "Blast" (pun intended) to shoot, just don't stand behind it. Life is good - enjoy it!
