The gun thread...

Looks like a Walther PP clone. I had a Walther PP in 32. It was OK but absoltutely refused to digest hollowpoints of any kind. Kind of heavy for its size as well.

9x18 will be a little harder to get. The Makarov should be available as Eastern Block surplus for cheap though. Conceivably, if you wanted to reload for it, you could straighten a 9mm Parabellum case (they have a slight taper) and trim it by 1mm. Most of the Makarov brass you'll find will be Boxer primed and not reloadable while the Parabellum is Berdan primed. The Makarov also uses a different diameter bullet. At 9.25mm V.S. the 9mm of the Parabellum. I don't think you would get very good performance shooting the smaller 9mm parabellm bullets and probably fatigue the brass if you tried.

Thanks man. You're right, I looked around online for ammo, and had a hard time finding a place with them in stock. We have a lot of gun shows that come to town, so I figure I'll be able to get some good deals there. I appreciate your input crbnunit! Thanks

Yeah that's for some older guns, my serial number starts with EA instead of AE :icon_thumby:

good to hear yours is in the clear. have you shot it yet & how much more kick/velocity does the 10mm have compared to the .40 S&W?

Yeah I put 21 rounds through it today. 20 Win silvertips (175gr@1250FPS) and 1 Buffalo Bore round (180gr@1350FPS/782 FT/LBS :icon_surprised: ). Since the silvertips weren't full power but still more powerfully than .40, they felt like shooting my XDm 40, the EAA is noticeably heavier so that helps. The BB round was noticeably more stout, sorta reminds me of .45 super/.357 mag but it isn't bad at all. I'm not gonna shoot it anymore till the 22lb recoil spring gets here, Wolff was supposed to ship it Wed so I would have had it Fri but they didn't ship it till Fri  But yeah no failures or anything in my 21 rounds today..

the EAA is an aluminum frame right? it looks like it, but yeah an all metal gun will definitely help with recoil and durability better than a composite frame. 10mm is supposedly a caliber that's hard on a lot of guns. I've been wanting to shoot a 10mm for a while, you don't really see many of them around though. my .40 S&W barely kicks for its caliber size and my 9mm carry piece starts to dig into my hand after 50 rounds. I gotta get me a big caliber, all metal "fun" gun soon, I was going to get a kimber stainless II with my tax check but I got a tv instead :lame:
