The Backyard Fabricator - Project Ranger

I've spent my entire career in TV and then couple of years ago I moved into new-media. Traditional TV style programming is dying and content on demand is taking over. Yes TV networks still get ok eyeballs and get advertising dollars but that's slowing going away. But as you know traditional networks are scrambling to figure out their new-media programming. Once new-media figures out a solid revenue stream, then it's all over.

We've talked about producing content for TV and still might if the right opportunity presents it's self. Yes we can go buy airtime like some of the shows we see on some of the networks but we're here to push and develop the new-media.

So one step at a time and we all can figure out the best TRS programming. Two 2 ways to do this that come to mind, we can create a TRS channel on Motortrex or we can help Jim produce/shoot/edit video segments. There are other ways of going about this and when Jim and I talk we'll get it hammered out.

Like they say "Content is King".

MOTORTREX
I watched this thread initially with lots of skepticism, but have been won over by the answers that MOTORTREX has given. I quickly checked out your web site and it seems genuine. Remember as you read the following, I watched PART of two vids in the garage section, as I don't have the time right now to watch them all, all the way through.
The vids could use some work, especially on audio but are acceptable.
One of the things I like to see is a backyard/diy/low-buck option to the advertisers product. I've stopped watching almost all the diy auto shows on t.v. because they are just one long commercial. I realize that the show has to generate money, but if you do the same format as t.v., you just won't get me to watch your show. What I watch the show for is to find out HOW to MAKE something, not how to install it! Now I'm not averse to watching some of the advertisers product being placed in the show, BUT I would like to see an option for the do-it-yourself-er. For example, a cut and turn and maybe an extension on a set of ttb beams. In my research I've come up with three different ways to do this, and there may be more. I'd like to see an explanation of all the different types, pros and cons and APPROX. cost, and then you could show off Giants' [or whoever is willing to pay] beams. Those that have the time, equipment, and willingness to undertake such a project are few and far between, but it sure would be nice to have a resource to be able to see it done. If the advertiser complains about the competition from the diy portion of the show, you can tell the advertiser you heard this from a potential customer; "As I get older I would be more likely to buy rather than build just because I have some disposable income and am running short on time"
Please don't bend over just to get the advertising dollar.
Hopefully,

Richard
PS; a link between sites would be a good start, in other words, advertise TRS on your site.
