The Aluminium Falcon

I would rather have a big check list to pick what I want.

I think manufactures would rather just make 4/5 levels and with the options fixed and you pick what level you want. Easier for them to mass produce I think.

I noticed when we ordered the Bronco it had more of a pick a trim with the options you want thing going on unlike the more Ala carte way they do it with trucks.

That would be acceptable if he had stripped all the paint off the body and polished the aluminum.
Oh, yes. Strip and polish it all like an old WWII bomber.

And blind everybody when the sun shines on it.

Plus, he could tow a polished airstream camper with it.

Everybody see... this guy gets it.

i am a fan of options but when you have to pick and get certain packages to get particular options, the fun ends for me. i tried to build an f150 with the few things i wanted but to get them, i had to get two or three packages worth of things so it pushed the price up 10 or 12k more, if i remember right.

i like the f150 but the pricing just puts it out of what i am willing to pay. even the used ones were a bunch of money

bums me out because the f150 is my favorite truck. i have had a few and love them. i really like this titan but i love the f150. i am just not willing to pay that much for a truck

So options are bad because you get packages but only packages are good?

Personally I kinda like I didn't have to get a offroad package of any kind to get a rear locking differential or a luxury package of any kind with leather and/or bucket seats to get heated seats or remote start.

So much of what I love about the truck is it has pretty much exactly what I want with very little package add ons.

I get what @superj is saying. It sucks that you have to get a whole suite of options when you really just want one, maybe two options in the package that cost $5K more. I think you got lucky @85_Ranger4x4 because what you were looking for was already opt on your "new" truck. My MIL wanted heated mirrors on her Highlander XSE and had to get the "Northern" package in Florida ( at least that's what the dealerdhip called it, WTF) , it comes with everything except AWD

I get it, that is why I generally despise packages.

My Dad's F-150 XLT is basically A Lariat with cloth seats. because of "pakages". Also Almost a 770 F-150, minus the 7 lug bolt pattern.

ha ha ha. nissan made special texas editions to celebrate the years they won texas truck of the year. since they have only done it twice, there are only two model years with this package. first generation titan was around 04 or 05, i think, second generation was my year. they won the award in 2016 so they put a texas edition out in 17.

comes with all the chrome and badges, plus the interior says texas edition on the sills and mats. and you get the chrome 20" rims, nice side steps, lined bed with the tie down system and its an sv model.

sv is the mid level truck but whoever ordered this texas package, added every single thing you could get but diesel, sunroof, heated steering wheel, power mirrors, and rear locker. they apparently wanted the texas edition and the top trim level because they paid a bunch to add almost every package you can to the truck, even 4x4.

then they traded it for a new one at the three year mark so we got it for 32k with 29k miles on it, which was a great deal to me.
Didn't they have a small Cummings motor as an option too?

Most of what makes a 7700 a 7700 is only available with the 7700. 4R100 was thinly sprinkled in normal 5.4 trucks but the brakes, suspension, 10.25 rear and frame was not.

they did. tha option was dropped in the end of the fy19 model, if i remember right. i know its not available anymore.

my dealership said not to get the cummins in the truck because they had to change 5 motors in new trucks because the crank snapped with less then 50k on them

Diesel half tons are no fun. Don't care who is on the grille.

Oh ok. I don't recall the payload or tow rate (?) number but my dad's truck with all the the stuff it came with, plus the stuff he added to pull his 27' camper, ( he has a 5th wheel adapter in the bed and helper springs and idk what else ) is close to the 770. I knew it had a larger rear end than dad's but I just figured it was a f250 rear end in a f150

4.6 had a 8.8, 5.4 had the 9.75, Lightning and 7700 had the 10.25 semifloat.
