The 460's gettin a rebuild!!! input wanted.

yup, goin with the "noisy" set too. ive driven my dads truck plenty and ive never been annoyed by the sound of the gears.

sweet, i didnt see the fel-pro kit. i was a little leery about the jegs brand kit.

so you think that cam would be fine? if theres no durability issues with them i would rather get that than dropping the extra 110 bucks on the comp cam.

As said before, it all depends on where you want the power band. I did hours of research and review before I bought anything. Also, if you're trying to build a sweet engine on a budget, forget it. My budget went from $2,000 to $7,500 by the time I was done, and I didn't have anyone build my engine except for the machine work.

I'm sure you get people asking what kinda supercharger you have under the hood when people hear the gears huh? My buddy has them in his 350 and it sounds sweet.

haha yup, we've heard that question from people before. im not really "building" this engine. im just tearing it apart to replace all gaskets and seals. the only parts i plan to replace is the oil pump, a mild cam and the timing gears, i can go wild with it later after its in the truck.

Here is the Top End Kit I bought for my 383 stroker build. The head gaskets in the kit were crap so I bought some Fel-Pro's. Of course I didn't find out til after I had the engine assembled and ready to run when I filled it with water to run on the engine stand. Gaskets leaked at the back of the heads. Since it lists what comes in the kit, I went on their website and read up on the specs for each component and also looked up reviews on them.

I dont think i need to post a link do i? You know where i stand on this right?

C'mon we all know you got $20G layin around, give Jon Kaase a call. Don't be scared!

Who needs floorboards when you've got 800hp under the hood?

As an engine builder myself, i cringe when people say that they are doing thier own parts selection and assembly. Not saying your not capable but to me it makes more sense to have a reputable engine shop do it so its done right the first time. Although i do have customers that do everything but the machine work and i have great confidence in them, but not knowing you personally...im a little scared for this BBF. I've seen to many engines come in blown up because somebody tried to do it themself not knowing what they're doing. That being said, if you need any help just shoot me a PM and i can try to help you out. Good luck

i got that much in my wallet everyday

just dont tell my F-150 that, shes wondering why she still has no drivers side floorboard :icon_rofl:

Floorboards just stop the gas pedal from having "full travel", you dont need them!

dont worry about the fate of this engine!

my dad has built at least three 460s and a few 302s and 351s. and all those engines are still running around to this day. he will be helping me alot on this engine so i think it will turn out fine, ive decided to get the same exact parts that are in his truck because we already know they work well together.

I've just seen all the bad stuff, good luck and don't be afraid to PM me any questions
