Do not post who you voted for!

NO :bawling:!

Let's not make this a heated political thread.:thefinger:

I just wanted to say thanks to those of you who actually went out and voted. Irregardless of who you voted for, you excercised your right to vote that many people take for granted. :icon_thumby:

Vanessa and I just returned from voting. I was surprised to see (8) names listed as candidates for President. I didn't even know there were (6) other people still on the ballot. :icon_confused:

I was tempted to write my own name in there at the bottom, but I didn't campaign this year. Maybe next time. :icon_twisted:

proud non-voter. 4 years running.

i dont consider myself un-patriotic. i just follow a simple creed:

"You don't have to believe in your government to be a good citizen; you just have to believe in your country."

As long as you don't get involved in political discussions, then I respect your choice to not vote. I can't stand people who don't vote and then want to complain about the government.

I voted; too many soldiers died for my right to vote so I exercise it.:headbang:

I couldn't vote this year.

Oh well. The candidates sucked anyway.

Do you remember who the other 6 were? One was surely Nader.

amen to that.

proud non-voter as well :icon_cheers:

Well thats your right as an American (to not vote), but as was said before if things go belly up, you have no right to complain. I voted early(mail-in) so now we will just have to wait till late Nov/early Dec. to see who is the next President.

6AM when the polls were opened I was there. My wife was #30 and I was #31. We take the kids too and explain what is going on as best as possible.

Voting is a civic duty. If you enjoy the fruits and labor of a free nation, and honor those who have died to keep it that way, voting is your duty to insure the same for the next generations as the prior generation did for you.

Being a "proud non-voter" is not good. How can you be "proud" of not doing your civic duty?

Everyone speaks of the government as being some foriegn entity. The government is US, all of us. Being proud of your country is fine, but you have to insure you still have a country for the pride to have any meaning. If you don't like those serving in government, there is only one way to change it...voting.

I think you are smarter than this, and as you grow older and mature, you will see the folly of your ways.:)shady

I voted at 7, my first time as well. I missed the 2004 election by ONE day (election is the 4th, my birthday is the 5th:bawling:)

So anybody get their free starbucks coffee today? Apparently they're giving it away as an election celebration thing. Krispy Kreme is doing the same thing I guess.

Just got back from voting. Got there about 5 min before 7 (when the polls opened) Took about 30 min. It was my first time voting. I didnt vote last presidential election because I was registered in the wrong county. I now feel as though I have accomplished something!

I voted weeks ago by absentee.

not voting is also a right....... specially if you don't like anybody that is running. but if you don't vote, you can't bitch.
