Thailand Ranger concept

It doesn't look that bad. It has a solid rear axle and I think a real frame. So far its doing just as good as the previous Rangers so long as the chassis is as rugged as the older trucks. I'm sure the stupid racey box cover could be removed, it has a seem all along the top. So there is another plus if it is.

Really there doesn't seem to be that much of a change other than technical stuff. But the main layout of a truck is still there. Solid axle, frame (hopefully), real box (hopefully).

As for the whole manual t-case thing, I don't really care as long as it is reliable and puts it into 4wd. I like manual t-case but come on, times are changing and technology is advancing, I suppose some of you would still want an old carbed V8 under the hood too?

Manual hubs would be nice, but if they make good auto ones that fully disengage then that would be great too.

If it turns out reliable, tough and good looking (with removing a few things and building yourself a bush bumper) what's really wrong with it? Bunch of old farts just afraid of change lol, jk.

Looks cool but I wouldn't trade my 07 for it.

Hideous, it looks like a Nissan.

If Ford were to (finally) replace the U.S.-market Ranger

that is from the website the original post linked to , all i can say is why would they want to replace the american built ranger , in my opinion , yes , it does need a major overhaul options wise , i eould love to see manual t case and hubs , and a diesel option , but why change the overall design , if i buy a truck , i want a real truck , full frame , metal body , the type that can take a hit and keep on goin right along , not some dolled up unibody ugly piece of american parent company but foreign built crap.

That's the problem. Everyone wants a "dolled up" "truck". Despite what you and I both agree on (and want in a truck), very few people do. There was a time when crew cab trucks were used for "hauling the crew" (i.e. construction workers, etc). Today, "hauling the crew" means transporting the soccer team. Moms and Dads don't want vinyl seats with manual windows and door locks. They want DVD entertainment systems, auto trannies with console shifters, big fancy rims with costly low profile tires, and lots of leather. I hate what has happened to the truck industry, but it's supply and demand. We are of a dying breed.

i agree with you almost 100% , i love a good old fashioned plain jane truck , but i do like having power windows and locks , and an automatic is nice to have , but i still like a manual trans , and i agree , we are a dying breed , the breed of those that use trucks as trucks , not to just to make themselves look manly

I agree. Looks like a "Teenage Mutant Ninja Avalanche" LOL

Lose the extra stuff on top of the bed and put a real bumper on the front, or at least make it easier for me to fab my own. Looks like it would have good ground clearance, at least on the body. Hope BFG never produces that tire though.

Too SportTrak-ey for my taste.

I like it. But looking exactly like that, it will never be unleashed on the road. Several styling looks may come out of it (headlights, grille shape). But, this is just a concept. Hell, I'd just be happy to be able to buy a Ranger like Mezico & the rest of the globe can. A SuperCrew 4 door.

if I wanted an ugly ass toyota i would have bought one... this this is god awful ugly!
