i just finished up my TFI relocation. gutted the old TFI and ran the three wires from it out to some spade connectors. then lengthened the six wires to the TFI plug. got the aerostar heat sink and mounted my new TFI in it. mounted the new unit to the front of the truck (radiator area) then ran the new plug to it, and the three wires in correct order to the new TFI unit.
it worked great! then as i was pulling into my friends driveway to fix a her jeep, it just died. like someone pulled the plug.

i checked all my connections, they are good and solid, soldered with heatshrink as well. and i can plug in my new TFI into the original spot (on the distributor) and it still doesn't run. it won't even pop. just cranks and cranks.

any idea's guys?

could i have blown the new TFI module somehow?

them tfi modules can be really flakey. Did you put heat sink compound on when you mounted it to the heat sink?

yes i did. on both the old dummy one that i mounted back on the dist. as well as the new one that i mounted in the aerostar heatsink. the stuff they gave me was a heatsink silicone. white in color.

i also checked fuel pressure at the valve on the fuel rail, after priming the pump a few times and leaving the key in the on posisition. its at a solid zero.

both pumps and the filter is new, and the i can hear at least one pump prime. so im am leaning towards the new TFI module to be bad, causing no fuel to be delivered. or maybe my fuel pressure reg?

Sounds like it might be an issue unrelated to the tfi, try sqirting a small amount of fuel into the intake and see if it will start on that. That will tell you if the tfi module is working. check also the wires that come from the harness, one might have broken when you added the parts to the distributor. As an afterthought the trigger wire from the distributor to the tfi or computor might have broken.
