Texas Repealed Switchblade Ban

Effective September 1st the ban will be lifted on assisted knives, with some exceptions. Up in the air is an assisted knife being double bladed, which is considered a dagger and is illegal, but for sure starting the 1st, you can carry and single edge assisted opening knife with a blade under 5 1/2 inches.

Why bother? In Tejas most serious knife folks carry fixed blade, miniature swords or folders that fling open with ten blades, death stars and ninja death dust. Wow, hadn't heard or thought about switchblades since the late 70's. They were hot sh*t back then, but then again we didn't carry pistolas and assault rifles like the kids nowadays...we settled stuff with our fists and only the really scummy guys would bring a Afro rake or motorcylcle chain belt into play in a fight. Axe handles were a favorite amongst us truck guys...we always had a gun rack in the back window though. Still carry a folding razor edged Buck pocketknife at all times, but you have to have a disposable shoulder rocket to stay ahead of the wild young gangstas these days.

I think the main thing was that it was stupid to ban them in the first place, and my legs pretty much back to normal, I can run and stuff but I have to take it a little bit easy. But yeah, it never made sense why they were banned, it's not going to stop criminals from using it, and so what if your knife is assisted you can get a folder and the knives work the same way. Lol
