Hi, Im working on a 1990 Ranger with a 2.3 L - the coolant temperature gauge doesn't work so I want to replace the temperature switch. I have the part in hand but for the life of me I cannot locate where it goes under the hood. It has one wire on the top of it, it looks like this:
6

can anyone tell me where to find this? thanks so much

Look next to the thermostat housing. Be fore you change it out make sure the guage on the dash works first. Turn the key on and ground the wire out....the guage should go to hot if it is working correctly.

That's the PCM sensor. The sender he's looking for is halfway down the block on the driver's side at the very back. It's hard to see, you might find it easier to see by taking off the wheel well plastic and looking in that way.

Its on the left or drivers side of block right below the oil sender which is in the head.
