i put a new body 87 broncoii on my 88 broncoii and now my temp gauge dont work and i used all the original wiring from 88 I replaced the gauge and the sending unit. does the computer need a reading from that sending to run right or is it just for the gauge?

The guage is separate one wire take the wire going to the sender and short it to ground with the key on if the guage reads hot it is the sender. If your other guages work it is either a wire or the guage itself. The power to the guages should be around 8 volts pulsing. The two wire ECT is for the computer you might try crimping the connector for the sender to fit snug and sand it a little to make good contact.

so if i put a mechanical gauge in it wont affect the the efi system

console warning lights

I have tried everthing to try and get the temp gauge to work . My console and a bunch of warning light in it for temp and such things and Im not putting it back in does anyone know if deleting that if it would stop the gauges from working
