But first off, pics of my little beasty. I cleaned the intererior the day befor it died so it's stayed clean lol. It could use a shampoo but I'm not going to worry about it till it's running again... IF it runs again haha. I might just get fed up with it and sell the stupid thing... lol anyways, onto the pics!

Kip- HOPEFULLY just a blown headgasket. It was leaking water into the oil for about a month or so after I uh... over heated it lol. Then the other day it started, lugged out and then turns over and won't stay running like it's not getting compression. So hopefully I won't find any surprizes hidden away somewhere cause I can't afford another motor lol.
 
well, just drain her our, pull the engine, check for burns or damage, and shove new parts in er, and shove it back in the truck!
 
Eh... I'm just going to pull the heads and see what I find. I REALLY don't want to pull the motor out inless I'm puting another one back in lol.
 
looks like a nice truck tho. very clean and well kept. worth to take her back to life!
 
Well I have the valve cover off side 4-6 pistons. It looks good. Now I know why the valve covers leaked so horrbly... Thats what the bolts are for right? You TIGHTEN them down snug correct? lol All but TWO bolts were looser then SNOT lol. Oh and I feel like a retard... I have the quick disconnect fuel line thing and uh... I can't figure out how to use it LMAO. I think I know how but it's... not working? lol IDK when my bf comes back from his dads, I'll have him do it haha.

OK. Well I got both valve covers off and WHAT a differance! I'm going to assume that the gasket is blown on the piston 1-3 side as there was SLUDGE and everything didn't look as... clean? for lack of better words lol. The right side was shiny and oiled looking and the left was dull, sludgy and dirty looking so yea. I think it's safe to say its that side. I'm at a stopping point as I don't know where to go from here. I know I need to take the rockers, exaust manifold, and intake manifold off in order to get to the heads but it looks like I need some kind of star looking socket deal. Yea, I don't really know. I'm just going to wait for the assistance of the bf lol. Better safe than sorry.
 
To ge thte fuel ine off you insert the tool to spread the spring and pull but it takes a little elbor grease, Just look it over real good and youll catch on, But you need to take the heads to a machine shop and have them magnafluxed. Basically magnetic powder that runs to any cracks in the heads from over heating, i think those are still iron heads so they crack instead of warping. But if Im wrong you need to straight edge the heads and look for warping. Completely flush the oil system with alcohol and or kerosene to get all the water/moisture out, (this means 2 qts kerosene, run the motor for 11 seconds, absolutely no more and let it drain for 20 min) Good luck with the rest.
