TDC rotor button position


Yes...

If it is not, remember that the piston comes up twice to TDC...once on compression and once at 180* out of timing...so if it's pointing at the engine you're 180* out of timing...

Oh, edit...and you can rotate the distributor some if it's not exact...

Any idea why the ignition doesn't advance when I plug the spout?

I pulled the spout plug and set it to 10 btdc.
Then plugged it and nothing changed.

does it advance when you snap the throttle? it usually stays at 10degrees at idle
 
Checked to see if snapping the throttle would advance the timing and it didn't.

What should I do now?
There is only one plug that looks like a spout right?
