TB differences

Ok, so this isn't a V-8 swap, per se, but it is about swapping V-8 parts, so maybe one of you guys will know.

When I get my new engine I am thinking about swapping a 5.0 TB onto it just for funsies. I think I traded off the Mustang one that I had, but I have one from an 88 truck engine that I have sitting around in boxes.

Will the truck TB work for swapping onto a 2.9 if I did trade the Mustang one, or are they different?

I don't have the parts sitting in front of me to compare them.

The truck Throttle bodies are two barrel units, it's not going to bolt onto a 1 barrel intake.

They are different. Mounting flange is bigger for the 5.0L. IAC is also usually on the 5.0L TB and needs blocked off. AFAIK, the TPS plug is different, too. Look in the tech library, it offers the specs on an adapter plate and everything else you'd need to know. I used to have all of the pieces to make it work from another member, but it went away when I got rid of my 2.9L. Tried to sell it, but no one wanted it.

Ha, that's ok. I know where there is a Crown Vic with a pretty complete 5.0 in the junk yard by my dad's house. Gotta go down there soon anyway.
