I dont know about you guys but that means some much needed TLC for the ranger!!!

plans include...

engine swap done :icon_welder:

chevy leafs out back (get rid of my 3 lift blocks) :headbang:

new brakes all the way around :D

and depending on how much i actually get back, i might get a set of racing seats.

so does anybody else here have plans for tax money/rangers?

Maybe. If I get enough I'm either gonna get my lift so it can sit around for a few years, or go looking for some new wheels.

I have to pay in this year because I screwed up on my W4. I never plan on getting a return anyway, if I did get something I would probably spend it on tools or my house.

I've never done taxes before and I have no idea what to do or how the process is done.

>.<

It ain't hard. State and Locals are the worst part.

For the most part its answering simple questions and simple addition/subtraction.

I'm assuming you probably can use the 1040EZ since you haven't done them before. You should be able to go down and just grab one off a table by the door at your local post office.

Most states also allow you to file your state taxes online for free.

I'm countin the days down. It means a body lift, 4.0 install and new seat covers.. Just a little bit longer. Hope the 2.9 holds out. Its gettin sickly.

I loathe tax season.

Every year I vow not to wait until the last minute to do them, but I usually do it the last, or second to last day.

If I'm lucky, I might get a couple hundred back. Last year, I think I was about even. And the workers compensation thing throws a monkey wrench into the whole process....

:annoyed:

I am hoping to get some back, but with the reduction in taxes being taken out of the pay, I doubt we will get much.

Whatever I get, I split with the wife, Married filing jointly, and my half is going into my Money Market account and towards paying off the wife's car so I can get my truck sometime.

X2. I look forward to tax time to get a refund. It won't be as much as it could have been though with the tax reduction.

Vanessa and I are hoping to buy our first house this spring, so we need the money to put down, closing costs, or somewhere in the new home process.

Magic 8 ball foresee's a stressed future for me on taxes. Probably means something is going to break or get damaged by the harsh weather here. All I don't need is more hail dents on the Ranger. New carpet, and on the day we finished (May 1, 2008), it rains golf ball size hail.

Awesome! Buying your fist home is a great experience. With that said, you should make the seller pay the closing costs.

Sorry for he thread jack. Well I guess I could answer the OP's question.

I have no debt, I have no assets other than our mortgage/house. We got such a great interest rate that we don't pay enough interest to itemize taxes. So, I do 1040ez using taxslayer.com. It's very easy, just enter your w2 info answer a few questions and it done. Pay the $10.00 for efile and you're done.

I'll sell you a house, Jim. 2.5 car garage, 20x30 barn.

All you have to do to get a nice return is to pay a lot of taxes, have a bunch of kids and pay a bunch of interest on a couple of houses.

Simple.
