tapping off of lifters

i dont understand why everybody thinks that just because alot of rangers tap well almost all of them but anyway i rebulit my 2.9 for my 4x4 89 ranger and it does NOT tap at all i have an exaust leak but thats it. no body believes me that it doesnt tap.

What kind of motor oil are you using?

im using castrol gtx with lucas oil stabilizer

my 2.8l used to tap I put in valve guide seals and adjusted them the only tapping i had was the new duraspark distributor cap but it has quieted down to almost nothing after about 200 miles

Mine makes more of a rattle from the bottom end lol. My Olds had valve chatter that would scare children though
