Taper heim joint stud

It should work. Only issue should be length. On the ttb you have to use misalingment washers because they move independently from one another, whereas the straight axle doesn't.
Another way to get around is by using the tapered inserts. You drill your knuckles out but if you want to go back to TREs you just put the tapered inserts in and you're back to stock. XJ drivers use them to get cheap hi-steer by flipping the TREs to the top of the knuckle.

Here ya go. Found what I was talking about. Drill out the knuckles and pitman arm just like for the SCS and run the heims. If you decide you want to run TREs afterwards or slip on standard steering for inspection you just pop these into the hole and you got the taper back.

Tapered Inserts

I seem to recall the F-150's taper (assuming it's a pre-'80 truck they're referring to) was an ever-so-slightly different size (or maybe more tapered) than what the D35 is.

I'd probably just drill them out and use something like what ThatGuy posted (or if it's still gonna be used on the street much, why not fab up your linkage using TREs?).

Thanks Junkie, I think thats what I'm going to do. Something like a SCS but with TRES instead.
