Tansfer case shifter with a body lift

I recently put in a 3" body lift on my 89 Ranger and now I can't shift into 2wd or 4wd low. The cab sheet metal is in the way now....is there any why to fix this without removing the body lift?

Cut the floor pan out a bit. The shifter comes through a plate that is held down with 4 bolts. You can cut that pan out so it will clear.

I was looking at that and it looks like I'd have to cut out a fair bit...is there any other options? And also would the boot still mount to the floor if I cut out the floor pan?

Some people have fabbed up a custom shifter linkage extension.

Does anybody have any pictures of a fabed shift linkage? I would have no problem making one...I jut thought that maybe someone made an after market extended shifter.

hahaha I'm sure you'd like that, I'm almost there though...I'm hating this jumping out and reaching under my truck to shift into 4wd ever since I disconnected the shift linkage....especially since I'm usually stuck axle deep in mud before I need to switch from 2wd...

cant knock me for tryin lol. im sure if you got creative with bending and welding on an extension you can make it work, it cant be too hard.
