I got a customer that wants an 8 inch or bigger lift for his 2007...Anything out there???

if hes 2wd, tell him body lift and a camburg kit lol. 5.5 front suspension and a 3 inch body. rear he will have to figure out. let him know about dixon bros racing and camburg. there are some others but i dont think they sell whole kits. its expensive. hope he has money.

Old Superlift/RCD if you can get ahold of one and a bodylift, only way your gonna get that tall without going solid axle on a torsion bar 4wd truck

Why?? Is he adding 40 inch tires?? 33's is all he needs to run. He will have to change the gear ratio and that is another cost all together over the price of the lift plus the cost of tires.....plus the alignment.....just put on a 4- 5 inch lift and enjoy the ride with 33's. He can run 4:10 gears like I do and still get decent gas milage.

sas. d44 and 9" combo. probably be about the same money as some of those expensive lifts.

If the guy is rich and its 4wd you could go really high by adding a superlift, body lift, and dixon brothers front end. this would get 10+ inches. Is he building a pavement pounder or what?

I suggested to go to just do it right and go 1 ton axles with the 40's, he said that if he is going to solid axle it, he is going to run Rockwell's and 54 inch Michelins...

Cause he can...Yes or bigger...That is not what he wants to run, he wants 40's or bigger...He had already planned on doing all that...He is not like you, he wants a tall truck...Same reason guy's build desert trucks, mud trucks, and rock crawlers, its what they want to do...

Yes, I know, I tried to tell him to SAS it with 1 tons...

I will have to ask about the body lift...He may do it, I'm not sure...Yes he is building a street truck...

prolly a mall crawler and wants to be like the big trucks lol

No different than anything else anyone else builds like I said above...

with a street based build

strongly suggest the big hub/brake 3/4 ton d44 77-79 ford axle and rear floater 60 with some sort of body lift as the cost effective solution. still good brakes and very cost effective to actually acquire the axle let alone to build steering and suspend with desired effect and safety and overall performance.

leave the 60 out there for someone that actually needs it wheeling:D

outside of that with those ridiculous demamnds of 2.5's have moneybags cough up enough for some badass one off full width a arm magic:icon_thumby:.

Darn...another idiot who wants to crash and roll a truck in traffic...with 40's on a Ranger...not sensible...not all all...the extra weight of those wheels and tires are going to drown out the hp of his motor, tear up his front and rear suspension...he will need a hipo V8 to push those tires and he will need the most expensive rear end he can go to (Dana 60 to start with). His front suspension will all have to be heavily modified to live on the streets with those 40's!!!!
What about his trans?? 40's will kill that trans if he is going to be a dd for instance. You tell tell him all that, right? He has $6-8 grand or more to spend? Take it all, Bro...he is an idiot..anybody who wants to run 40's on a Ranger is an idiot!!!

Here is an example on some serious lifts. Jim Oaks posted this back in 2009....most of these Rangers are running 35,37-38 inch tires and you can see the amount of lift they are using...hope this helps you out...but the guy is still an idiot for spending way to much money to run 40 inch tires!!!

... I think I take a little offense to this, but then again I won't be running 40s.....

I'll be rockin 42's :thefinger:

No offence meant to you, Bro or any of my buddies who use monster tires for crawling or strictly for off road!!! I am just saying that to run 40 inch + tires on the street as a dd just to show it off and not use it for crawling? It is just not a great idea. Not to mention the wear and tear on the vehicle and the gas milage cost!! None of my buddies drive their crawlers on the road. I can imagine that idiot flipping that truck in a quick turn and crushing somebody.....

It's gonna see as much street time as I can get in it...lol

In regards to the OP, atleast the guys is bringing it to a shop not doing a hack job in the back yard. If he's willing to fork over the cash, link it and get it on rocks or a set of fabricated diffs (14 bolt centers, D60 outers?). Prove it to be both big and safe and watch the customers roll in....
