Darn...another idiot who wants to crash and roll a truck in traffic...with 40's on a Ranger...not sensible...not all all...the extra weight of those wheels and tires are going to drown out the hp of his motor, tear up his front and rear suspension...he will need a hipo V8 to push those tires and he will need the most expensive rear end he can go to (Dana 60 to start with). His front suspension will all have to be heavily modified to live on the streets with those 40's!!!!
What about his trans?? 40's will kill that trans if he is going to be a dd for instance. You tell tell him all that, right? He has $6-8 grand or more to spend? Take it all, Bro...he is an idiot..anybody who wants to run 40's on a Ranger is an idiot!!!
Here is an example on some serious lifts. Jim Oaks posted this back in 2009....most of these Rangers are running 35,37-38 inch tires and you can see the amount of lift they are using...hope this helps you out...but the guy is still an idiot for spending way to much money to run 40 inch tires!!!

i dont know what to say to this and not be a fawking dick about it.
i would really like you to qualify your experience as to these opinions you have.
....both times i rolled my truck all the way over(1st time multiple on the road) was with a d 28 and 3 in lift with 31/33 tires. and i was not speeding or driving like a tard.
just had some ass clown with a nose bleed high bracket lift truck qualify my truck as a hackjob. taller truck, smaller tires...junk lift and junk axles for hiway use compared to my setup, but bought it out of a catalog and it looks good
my truck has the ability run 42 in tires down the road past their limits of speed rating with one hand on the wheel till they explode. at reasonable speeds its quite safe and reasonable as reasonable should be. i dont make a habit of driving daily with the big tires(cant afford that and would not if i could) but depending on time of year i do use them daily when i have to..
the reason i would call my truck unsafe, is due to the weight of it. if all that shit were to come down on me i probably wont make it out of it a 3rd time at road speeds, so i drive accordingly. wouldnt matter if it was a fullsize cab...as i base it on the fullsize wrecks i studied. i simply need a proper cage. the lack of cage keeps my average speed at posted or lower then posted in general.
my truck stops better, goes better, and gets better economy then it did the day i bought it, and thats with 35 inch tires...and it was bone stock with 225 tires when i drove it home from the dealer.....
i can see the outside point, but without more data i cant judge the owner or his abilities or lack of.
guys like you worry me.
