The other day I noticed my dipstick oil level has risen 10 fold and turned a yucky chocolate milk color. Head or headgasket, either way the motor is coming out. I have another 2.9 in a Bronco2 at my Brothers farm that ran good before the tranny went out. I was going to have the donor heads checked and a valve job done after I remove it. I already snagged the radiator, pwr steering, alt and some other stuff. After I grab the motor, whats left goes to the junkyard for beer $. We're going to use his scoop loader to pull the engine. The question is, should I bring my oxy/act torch to the job? I was thinking I could use it to cut the engine mounts, exhaust, radiator support and other nonvital stuff. I'm asking because I never pulled an engine and I don't want to spend alot of time turning wrenches.

It's not kool to cut up a B2...But yeah, bring it, I'd definitely use it on the exhaust, and a wrench on the mounts, as they are easy to get to...

I would rather cut exhaust with a battery sawsall. If you decide to bring your torch have some way to put out a fire.

I'd just swap the complete motor out. If the oil level really has risen that much, that means there must have been a lot of antifreeze in the oil. That's almost certain to have damaged something.

Like I said, I'd just swap in the known good engine, then go through your original one to see what you can do with it.

Oh, and X2 on not being cool to cut up a B2. They're getting to rare. Most of 'em went to the crusher at the junkyard.
