take a look at this engine

Lol put that in my truck. Pretty nice numbers for a 4-banger

yes it looks efficient but weak. it's like idependent suspension. where its functionality/adnvanced design outweighs its strength

doesn't look that weak to me, no more than any other four popper.

I see how it would be a little more weak then anyother motor but, concidering what most people use vehicles for it would serve its purpose. Like they put IFS on rangers, now most off roaders love the TTB and Solid axles but its a less comfortable ride, and not as smooth and more efficient, its not as tough but if you think about it people that would beat it so badly that it would break either wouldn't buy it or they would swap it out with something they want. And since the offorad community is much smaller then the general population they tend to design things for the general pop.

eh, IFS safer than TTB, less chance for camber induced understeer.

the ttb has the same problem the corvair had, it just doesn't kill you when it's on the front of the vehicle.

well, i couldnt understand anything that guy was saying.....looks like a cool idea though

Looks like a nightmare from the maintenance standpoint.

hahaha yeah my dads gun hoe about these little motors specially him being an engineer he sees it from a another perspective too i would love to have two of these bolted together in my truck!

this isnt really a new concept... porche and vw were doing this years ago its a simple pancake motor.

it looks based on a regular horizontally opposed engine, with 1 huge difference in each of the cylinders

Yeah, two pistons per cylinder is a little different than just about anything.

Looks cooler than heck to watch it go, it will be interesting to see if this goes anywhere or sizzles out.

I'd love to see what the casting for the block will look like with the long ass connecting arms...

how does it seem week? 664 lb ft of torque at 2100 rpm doesn't seem to week to me
