Tailgate emblems?

hears an idea, leave it on there, make it stock, and represent FORD, come on show some love. lol

I've always prefered the more subtle look on vehicles when it comes to logos. I'm certainly not ashamed of my truck, but unless Ford is going to pay me for advertising, I'd prefer a smaller (or no) badge.

I'm with the other guys though, and don't relish the thought of welding or bondo-ing, then re-painting my brand new truck.

As long as we're not talking about the newer two-tone FX4, I'd say look for an older tailgate. I'm keeping an eye out for a Mazda tailgate, which would be even better, since there are no holes.
Before I bought my Ranger, I decided the first thing I was going to do was strip off the tailgate/fender emblems, the FX4 bedside stickers (I know it's 4x4 - I don't need to advertise it!), and get a new grille. For reasons unknown, the Ranger I bought already had the FX4 stickers removed. Everyone tells me they never put them back on after the truck got hit by a train LOL. I didn't know about the damn alignment pins at the time, and was shocked when I started to take off the tailgate emblem. Having holes in the body just to ensure the emblems aren't crooked has to be the lamest thing I have ever heard of.

the big emblem gate also has a little oval depression, so tthats why the emblem doesnt look like if they just glued it there.
best options are, the 93-03 tailgate with small emblem or mazda gate with no emblem
if i just were in the US i would trade you my 99 tailgate for yours... i really like the huge emblem

here is what i woud do... put it up for a swap... i know i like the big emblem in the middle... but thats me...unfortnatley i dont have that body style...

I think that 1993-94 used a different style tailgate, no emblem just FORD written in the bottom right corner.

At least that is how mine is anyway.

that were just some special cases... my moms 93 had the emblem, some bas emodel rangers had the lettering like yours, it looks nice too

my 93 has the ford emblem on it too. maybe you just got an odd ball tailgate koda.

haha...Im quite the opposite...I actually ADDED the big 9" logo and the ranger badge onto my '01 tailgate. Along with 06+ mirrors and corner lamps.


There ARE locating holes behind both the ranger badge and the blue oval.


Do what everybody said...look for an older tailgate...mazda gates are hole-less....other gates have a small blue oval in the lower passenger side. What color is your truck? Could be possible somebody would like to trade you gates if they've got the same color truck... an idea that doesn't involve expensive paint.
