how can i wire a tach in my truck its a 93 ranger with a 2.3 it has the coil packs so i dont know how to do it please help just bought 20 dollar tach

There is a tach signal wire in the harness under the dash somewhere. Not sure what color wire you'll be looking for in your truck, I know that for a 2000 Ranger it's a tan wire with IIRC a yellow stripe, but you'd probably have to try to look it up unless someone else knows because it could very likely be a different color for your year range.

Its a yellow/brown wire. Its under the dash (there are 2 of that color under the dash) or you can splice into it right by the PCM. Pin 48.

didnt really help they had a different motor than me so if anyone can help with there own and even add pictures would be greatly appreciated

It shouldn't matter what motor as long as it's a similar year, they used the same harness on the vehicle and just a different set of plugs for the motor and they used a computer configured for the motor, but the same style plug.

How long have you been wrenching?

Smart_Ass, read up on your trivia and the previous forum threads that other people have already asked where knowledgeable TRS members have already contributed. As Lil_Blue confirmed, your motor and configuration are no different.

You sign onto a website, get a cool user name like "Smart Guy," and figure strangers will respect your question enough to honestly justify it with an answer. Truth be told, you are a disrespectful unknowledged teenager with a keyboard and atrocious punctuation.

Research this site before demanding answers with easily given pictures. Did your reading level never graduate past pop-up books?

Try checking the Tech Section of this website next time to gain an understanding of what's in front your firewall.

I know my Rangers...you (the noobie) don't.

i wasnt trying to be a smart ass the edis module has one big plug and if that is the module that im thinking of to be on my i have two of them one on top and one on bottom im thinking my edis module is behind the air conditioner pulley the picture looked different like i somewhat said

i understand its part of the same concept i mostly glanced at it put then i looked harder at in and yet it is still hard to understand

Wiring should be left to professionals. Or people that know how to do it right.
