How in the hell do you re-install the shift motor? I've gotten it all the way out and got my other shift motor from my donor truck to put in its place, for the life of me, i cannot get the damn thing to go back on. i looked at the triangler stub sticking outta the t-case, looked at the triangler hole in the motor, tried to line them up and put it back on but i cant seem to get the damn thing back on. Any ideas?

thanks,

Make sure your transfer case is in the 2-hi mode and also the donor motor is in the 2-hi position. You can hook your motor electical connector up and select 2-hi with your switch to get it back where it needs to be and it should slip right in. Just went through this with an 88, couldn't get the motor to go in and found that the used motor was in 4-hi and transfer case was in 2.

Well, the thing is, i even tried to throw the old motor back on and it wouldnt go. The original motor quit working, it would click but not go into 4 low or 4 high. When i looked at where the knub was pointing, it was pointing at 2wd, i even switched it down to 4hi with a pair of pliers, and barely turned it and it flipped back over to 2wd and tried again still not going on. Idk, maybe im doing something wrong. Do i need to remove the bracket thats got a wheel looking thing on it and then throw it on and put the bracket back on? Seems to me that it just needs to be turned a little and it should go on, but i think that the other bracket that holds some type of wheel thingy is in the way.
