Does anyone know about a sye (slip yoke eliminator kit) for a bw 1350, you know, ofr a bII with electric shift. If anyone has seen one, please let me know, as far as i know it doesnt exist, or let me know if you did your own conversion, or how to get rid of the slip yoke (other than changin transfers).thanks

Swapping to a 1354 is the only way. Because you already have an electric (and I assume that's fine), finding a 1354 should be a piece of cake (and likely much cheaper than if there was a kit available to convert yours).

Get an electric BW1354 off a later model Ranger or Explorer. It's basically the exact same thing as the BW1350 except for a fixed front output.

Virtually all the parts interchange. It's quite literally an SYE from the factory.

One of my friends accually tried this, I believe he cut the rear ujoint and slip yoke off the front driveshaft then cut the other joint and ears off the front end of the front drivershaft got some Trailer hitch receiver extension a nd 2'' square tube and made a long travel slip shaft and welded the ends on, the he pulled the case case and drilled a hole in the female part of the slip on the tcase and inserted the driveshaft, marked and drilled it then pinned it with a peice of drill rod and tack welded the ends i dont remember it ever breaking although i believe he ended up welding the driveshaft right to the slip yoke.. i wouldnt recommend running this settup with any serious rubber but i guess the piont is it has been done... definatly more worth your time to swap in a 1354

All this being said...
How difficult would it be to switch the shift linkage from a manual BW 1350 to an electric 1354?
:threadjacked: Sorry

Can't be done. There is no hole in the case or the shift lever on the side of the case on an e shift transfercase. The shift motor mounts on the back of the case.

i have an electric 1354 with a brand new shift motor i will sell. pm me if your interested.

I have a fixed front yoke 1350 in my garage, only problem is it's an E-case
