by open either direction you mean it swings open like some tailgates on SUV's?

Great work there, how is it holding up? Did you paint it with Rustoleum or anything?

How much time did it take you to weld all that together? Was a lot of the time just planning everything?



I really like the idea, but wouldn't like giving up that much bed space

It opens like this in either direction, and can be flipped about so the tire hangs out the back of the truck instead of inside the bed in case I need more room in the bed.

Took me about 6 hours from start to finish, to cut, fit and weld the tube together and paint it. It got a coat of self etching primer and then rockguarded.

Its a box that I built/modified to fit my ranger. In BC we call them logger box's. Pretty standard issue on all logging crew trucks. It's all built out of plate steel.
