Swing-out tire carrier on stock bumper?

you'd just have to mount it WAY over to the right (or left) to clear the tailgate to allow it to fold down. Which wont be symmetrical when you look at it in the rear.

If you do decide to do this, please post up the how to, i am interested in doing this for my truck...

My thought is to do something similar to the jeep in the picture on that website, but obviously quite a bit wider. Put the latch under the left tail light and the hinge under the right tail light. That way when it swings out to the right, it clears the tailgate completely.

i've seen it done twice on a stock first gen explorer.
the ex bumper had a pretty flat top bumper and plenty of room on the right side (under the tail light).

one thing you'll find about those swing out tire ktis, youll want to upgrade the latch to something better.
