I scrapped out my 1983 ranger today. Before i did I took off the front and rear sway bars. I was thinking about putting them on my 84 ranger. You think it would make a big difference in the way it would handle? By the time i buy new bushings and everything I'll have about 50.00 in it. Is it going to be worth the time and money?

Let me know what you think, yay or nay. Thanks

I just checked on LMC truck for prices. It is going to be close to 100.00 for all new bushings.

So the 84 has no swaybars? ye it will make it ride better and reduce body roll in the corners but you might wanna do some shocks too for the best result

so is there big difference with the rear sway bar?

I took the front sway bar off my '89 in order to lower it 3"....it held the road like a go-cart with the swaybar...

but now it has some body roll (not too much...the curve I used to take at 60mph----I gotta take it at 50mph....now my wife doesn't scream as loud)

As far as a rear sway bar.....I took the rear s-bar off my other vehicle....I noticed I had to slow down 5mph more than usual in curves and it had more rear wheel hop on bad roads without the rear s-bar......but there was no difference in the ride on smooth roads

'91 stx ranger 4.0l 5-spd ~ 9/10"
'85 b-II 2.8 5-spd ~ 1"
'87 stx highrider ranger ~ 1 5/32"
Have not tried any of them yet.

The bar i have are different sizes. The rear one is larger diameter. Is that normal?

Also Summit has the new bushings alot cheaper then rockauto.
