sway bar removal

if i take out the sway bar in only the front on my 2wd what will this effect.

it will give it more flex, thats all i know
 
Not a good idea on 2wd. The sway bar keeps everything lined up. On a 4wd the front axle can substitute for this but on a 2wd it will make things way too soft and potentially dangerous. And probably throw your alignment way off as well. You can try it but I wouldn't recommend it.
 
I would not recomend taking off JUST the front. As it will make for some odd effects on a stock truck.You want to keep body roll equal front to rear on a daily driven truck IMO.

IF your truck is stock ie not liftted there is no need to ditch the sway bars really.you will just create body roll. IF your truck is lifted ditch both of them.IMO they handle alittle better, as in more predictable on long sweepr corners that have bumps or "whoops" in the roads.AS you dont get the tortion snap.But you also have to get use to the extra body roll.rember your not driving a sports car.your driing a TRUCK


as for the 2wd vs 4wd, there is no diffrence. they are both a beam set up.They both function in the same way.Only diffrence is 4wd has a diff and axle shaft's.And removing your sway bar will not affect your aliment ethier.

IF you do have a lifted truck with long radius arm's 2wd or 4wd you should run limit straps.as your shocks will now limit the down travel and you can rip a shock apart.and if you rip a shock apart you have the chance of poping a spring out of the bucket.J-hook clips will help here but I dont trust the off the shelf cheap ones.


the only thing dangeous about removing sway bars is the lose nut behind the wheel.

That is not true. You do know most 2wd rangers dont come with sway bars correct? This is an I-beam ranger he is talking about?
 
Every ranger I have ever seen has come with a front sway bar. rear sway bars are another story. As far as removing it, itll give you more body roll and allow the front wheels to be independant from each other on movement. which as said abve will give more flex and more body roll. if you do mostly street driving there is no reason to remove it.

As far as it making a difference I beam or SLA, the sway bar does the same thing either way and doesnt line anything up.

Offroad a Front Sway bar is useless. For a street queen its fine. Also just so people know removing the sway bar has absolutely ZERO effect on alignment.
