swapping t cases

I just did the 4.0 swap in my b2, i have the 1350 elec shift. My donor was a 2wd ranger that I took the entire harness out of. It all worked before, doesn't now.

I have a manual t case from a 88 b2.

Can I install it while the tranny is in the truck?( I have 0 lift on truck)


Where do I find a gasket for the t case to tranny? Dealer part. PN-E9TZ-7086-A

Yes, I recently removed a T case from a parts truck, you will first need to unbolt both driveshafts and unplug your harnesses and speedo sensor from the T case. Then there is 5 or maybe 6 bolts on the t case to the tranny, unbolt as many as you can reach then undo the transmission crossmember and let it hang (this should give you enough room to reach up and get the last bolt or 2...) then all you have to do is wiggle the old one off and slide the new one on. Bolt on in reverse order, but before you do the crossmember and driveshafts you should pull back the carpet and bolt the floor plate for the floor shifter onand install it. then you can go back to putting the truck back together.

Just a reminder.... You can do this with a 5spd tranny. With an automatic you will need to drain the transmission as it will all pour out if you separate the cases with out draining it first.

Just saw that you do have a 5 spd. But others may read this and miss that and make a mess so I will leave this post.
