swaping to manual t-case

i have a 1997 ranger 4.0 lifted 6 inc on sesp. and 3 in of body and i want to get rid of all that electric crap and go manual. i know the huds are no big deal but how hard is it and what would i need to do to swap from electrec 4x4 to manual t-case???

You need a manual case, shifter linkage, and a hole in your floorboard. You might be able to score a floor plate that has the cutout for the tcase shifter already...

Your 4w4 light in your dash will be flashing cause it will not "see" your tcase shifter motor...

simple fix, just unplug the module and re wire the light to the switch on the manual case

One other thing he will need...

the front driveshaft from a '95-96 Explorer

The 95-96 Explorer used a double cardan joint driveshaft that will
allow the use for a more common "half moon" front output yoke
T-case.

your truck now uses a Rezeppa typc CV joint at the t-case end of the
front shaft and frankly though I know intellectually that they exsist,
I've never actually SEEN a Manual 13-54 with a six bolt front drive
cup to mate to a Rezeppa joint driveshaft.

you could disassemble BOTH transfer cases and swap parts around
to allow the use of your current front driveshaft, but people complain about the rezeppa joint all the time anyway...
