swap radiator fan...

lots of cracks around the center of my fan on my 93 Ranger ..can't find a new replacement..but am told it's an easy swap for the flex fan...what do i need besides the fan ??..looks like I need some sort of spacer to bolt to the water pump...thanks..pj

I await with bated breath the answer to this one. My fan is several years older, and has started to lose chunks of the blades, sort of like 'corners' coming off. It has the large center mounting that bolts directly to the fan clutch.
I *think* the newer fans will bolt on correctly, but haven't taken the time to go yard picking to find one.
I also think you'd need a 'slug' spacer to move the flex fan closer to the radiator and into the duct to make it work properly. I have yet to see any information I could put together to do a replacement with a flex. I don't even see any parts listed to space the fan closer from the water pump hub.
It 'tis a mystery.

so that's what i need....was wondering how the flex fan attached to the water pump if the clutch was removed...thanks...pj

got the Haden parts..installation was fairly quick...however the bolts supplied with the adapter were the wrong thread..had to get some out of my shop..curious as to why there were eight bolts when only four are needed..supplied four flat and four lock washers...but eight bolts..at any rate job done..thanks for the help pj
