I have a 96 mazda that im pretty sure ive been the front ttb (tires are toes out and lean in bad plus the drivers side is pushed backwards about 3 inches or so) would it be better in your opinion to replace the stock junk or swap in a 44?

Replacing whatever is bent would certainly be quickest and easiest... (the radius arm and/or frame crossmember is most likely what's bent by the sound of it).

How did it get messed up? Accident?

steering box broke and seperated from the steering column while driving, i lost control and ran over a bunch of junk in a construction site

how lucky or unlucky can u get that this would happen and at the time ud be in a construction zone, thats pretty damn unlucky. but if u plan on wheeling alot id throw in a 44, but if it gets driven on the road mostly just replace the stock junk, like said before that'd be quickest and easiest, if this happend to me id swap in a 44

Ehhh... it's probably easy enough to just fix it... Unless you got the hybrid D28/35 axle, I don't see much good reason to ditch the whole thing unless you want to get some 37" or bigger tires on there.
I'd take a good look at what all is damaged and see what needs replacing, then go from there.

That sounds scary that the steering box broke :shok: :icon_surprised:
