ok found a 91 2wd ranger with a 4.0 and was wondering if that harness is plug and play on the 89 b2 if not is it easier or harder than the exploder harness?:icon_confused:

a 1991 Ranger harness really is a lot easier than an explorer harness.

any body know what needs to be done to the harness?

I did the exact same swap. I have an 89 B2 and uses a 91 ranger harness. It is plug and play to get it running. The only changes to the harness that must be done are the plugs for the tail lights. The wires from each harness don't match. I took the plugs apart and just rearranged the pins until my tail lights worked. Its not complicated.

did you use the total harness?

or just the engine bay?

Just the engine bay harness. Hooked it up to the stock connector that comes thru the firewall.
