swap a 97 3.0l into a 93 3.0l can it be done

I have an oppurtunity to get a 93 4WD WITH A BAD 3.0 L MOTOR I have a 97 3.0 l motor from a wrecked 2wd ranger. What am I going to need to do to make this swap work. I know the 93 has a distibutor and the 97 has a coil pack. can I drop the distrbutor in the 97 where the position sensor is and is there a gear to drive it and will it work with the old electronics? Any help would be a great help.
