Swap a 4 Cyl into a '97 3.0 auto ?

My 97 3.0 is getting tired and will not pass smog. I got a line on a wrecked truck , 4 cly. I used to have a 4 banger , that had plenty of power, and like an idiot , I sold it years ago . Can the 3.0 to 4 cylinder swap be done, and how big a job is the wiring harness , computers etc ? . I know the springs would need to be chahged , and maybe rear axle for gear ratio.........Your thoughts please Thank you.

It's about the same as any other engine swap people ask about. Engine, trans (or at least bell housing for you) engine harness, and computer. Get the whole truck and don't give up any of it until you have a running one.
