Has anyone tried swapping out the interior door cards from a 96/97 into a 94?

mine has power locks and windows, I don't mind re-wiring the switches if need be. What I would be more concerned about is the handle lining up correctly.
thoughts?

cheers!

The 96/97 is molded to match the dash. Not sure if it would interfere with the dash of the 94. Even if it doesn't interfere, it will look strange.

It looks like the handle would be pretty close to the same location, just comparing pictures. I've never found a decent door card from a 94/94 donor.

If i could replace the arm rest maybe mine could last a little longer. I just haven't seen a lot of options to replace that either.

They're pretty similar, I have a '94 drivers door on my '97, the bump by the dash might look odd but should be fine, I like mine without it.

The door handles are somewhat different, I think you would need to take the little bracket off and might have to drill a couple holes in the door for the screws. I don't know if the clips or whatever are the same in both styles.

So i guess i really just want the stronger handle and replacement armpad from the 96. I know they wouldn't fit, but i wonder if modifications could be done that would make them acceptable. the handle on my 94 is all torn up from the previous owner having to pull it to slam the door (instead of replacing the door pins...).

I was looking around on eBay and found the door panel arm pads for the Mazda variant, would need to do some more research to see if that would be a direct replacement.

Please keep researching and don't go by me but I believe that the Mazda has a different interior for the most part. Some things can swap and look correct like window visors but I think the door card is different. Again keep researching it as I may be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time.

I will continue to research, however, you are 100% right! Didn't take much to find that the mazda armrest pad is much thinner than the ranger version.

I occasionally see a used ranger version on eBay but they are typically pretty rough. I might just snag a 96/97 panel next time i see one and see how it goes...
