i went out to silver lake sand dunes friday, and ford svt team was out testing the new prodution raptor. after watching this truck in action i have to say it is one bad ass truck. they were not being easy on these things. they did every thing from jumping the heck out of them, high speed over bumps, water, everything to do up there. they took everything that was threw at them. i kept asking how do i get that job. there was 2 of them both had the 5.4 engine. they are just plain cool way more capable then the fx4 f-150. i have heard the base price is around 40,000 if i didnt just loose my job, i would have bought one.

yup there were two at the Best in the Desert race. Jim oaks rode in one. Id like to hear what he thought of it. Price for those is 38,999 (base) as stated from the ford marketing rep.

Freakin sweet.

I got to go for a ride in one in a course set up in the desert during contingency in Primm Nevada last weekend.

The truck has an electric locker and a button on the console that put it in an 'off-road' mode.

This truck is bad ass with Fox shocks. The front end caught air a few times and NEVER bottomed out. It was amazingly smooth. I really can't express how quick and smooth that truck ran off-road. The 6.2L Boss V-8 was definitely a must have option as well.

I guess there will be a limited production.

I think trucks are getting too expensive, but considering what I paid for my '07 F-150 new, the Raptor is well worth the money. If I had the cash, I'd definitely buy one after seeing how well it flys offroad.
