dropped the pan for a shift kit install and filter/fluid replace
behold a steel pin (it's magnetic) 1&5/16" length by a bit less than 1/8" diameter was laying in the pan. it has a high surface finish (centerless ground after heat treat maybe) and is convex shaped 'ball end' on each end.??
what is this? where does it fit? any help appreciated - I'm readyiing to drop the VB tomorrow morn.
I did use a 1/4"x1/2" self drill/tap screw to give a fluid change hole - it sealed right up, I used a viton gasketed sealing washer. I'm going to braze in a pipe bushing for a 1/8"npt plug for permanent but I believe this screw would hold from now on unless overtightened.
