i've just finished building some rock sliders... minus the support arms:icon_twisted: but i was wondering what you guys would suggest for the support arms? I used sched 40 pipe for the sliders, and have more sched 40 pipe, would it do ok as support arms? i'm gonna brace it on both sides(frame and rock slider) and then how thick of sheet metal would ya suggest to use when i bolt it up to the frame? Would 1/4" be good enough or thicker? I'm planning on running 4 arms per side... just wanna make sure i don't break any time soon :)

Pipe would be fine, but you'll want to either gusset them, or run a secondary support tube back to the frame as well.

I would also suggest bolting them using 4x 1/2" gr8 bolts on each plate, and using a sandwich plate on the inside of the frame as well.

I would just weld the plate to the frame, not bother with bolts.

Which would be just as effective as long as the support plate is welded in the 'diamond' orientation with the corners pointing up and down so that there aren't any vertical welds on the frame.

I really like these plates that trailgear has been making. They allow you to bolt into the bottom of the frame rail as well, for a total of 6 bolts at each support.

ok, i actually just finished the sliders. Now i've just gotta brace em up, i was gonna take em in and get em powdercoated tomorrow, but i guess i better do that instead. Except my gas tank has been a big dillemma haha... i've spent a while figuring out what i was gonna do there as i would prefer to bolt these on to the frame than weld em on. When i get em all done i'll take a pic and post it up.

I bolted mine to the frame, just had to fish some 1/2" bolts in behind the gas tank. Its doable.
