K, so I was on my "thinkin stool" today, thinking about needing to cut my fenders.

I dont wanna hack em, and I love the OEM style look with the stock flares. And I don't want fragile fiberglass fenders.

So I was thinking, Maybe stock SuperDumpster flares would fit. Possibly need a little trimming. Those trucks beautifully tuck up to 40"s.

Both the 99-07 250-350 and the 3rd gen Ranger have the same style body lines...

Anyone have a set of those flares lying around that they could hold up next to a 93+ Ranger?

Any other thoughts?

What exactly do these flares look like? I've never heard of them....

Ahhh.

What I can tell you is they are pretty damn flexible, and are held on with a couple screws and double sided 3m tape.

I think it's worth a try if I can find a set cheap.
there's a set on Ebay going for a mere $300...

im thinking of the same thing except my fanders are already cut and when i go fullwidth i have to cover up some my plan was to take my old flares to the junkyard with me and see what works

Hardly seems worth it for 1" of flare! Those look more like wheel opening trim rather than flares.

The F450's and F550's have a front Flare that is added than is larger than that but all of the trucks I have seen with them have been chassis/cab's so there is no rear matching ones.

I don't see how Fiberglass flares are going to be more fragile than a steel fender with a rubber molding?

I thought about it, then I held up one to the truck and saw that they only really open up the wheel well 1.5-2" on each side. Gotta use cut outs if you want more room to tuck lotsa tire.

these are rather expensive, but seem like a better option.....

If you think fiberglass is brittle then these will crack if you sneese next to them.

If you want rubber ones look into the gorilla war flares from JBG, or Duff.

But there is nothing wrong with fiberglass. They are more impact resistant than the stock steel fenders.

Yea I've seen fiberglass fenders take some huge hits and pop back without much damage to them. The bushwackers on the other hand....explode...as me how I know.

Speaking of bushwackers, does Mech still have his B2 with my old cutout flares on it Joel?

They were on untill I got the truck. I pulle the front fenders off and I cut the rear quarters off and a buddy put them on his ranger. His ranger was just recently retired to the Cash for Clunkers program.

Oh you ended up with his B2?

He's rocking an XJ now isn't he?

those cut out flares ate not brittle at all i have the bushwacker ones and you can twist them in a circle with out cracking them at all.

Until you get them cold, then they snap.....I've seen a few set's shatter like cheap china plates. I've rubbed my fiberglass prerunner fenders at -30*C and haven't really 'broke' them yet.
