I know I'm not the only one drooling to get my hands on one of those 4 door rangers:bawling:.

Here in College Station, TX, we have one of the nations best Firefighter academies, and every now and then, I see Mexican Vehicles driving up here to get training (Some are professors as well, but they mostly use cars).
I've seen the Ford Mondeo, the Ford Fiesta, the old style VW buggies, and many more vehicles that have Mexican Plates.

So far, I have seen two of those precious Supercrew rangers! I saw one last year at a gas station, and just today, I saw one driving into campus! I feel like selling my ranger, going to Mexico and buying me a Supercrew Ranger!!!! We own a small ranch in Mexico and have taken a lot materials from the states to build up over there as well(we exported our old 88 F-150, and it now resides in the central plains with Mexican Plates), so if I can't bring the truck over to the states, I'll have a home for it either way. I won't rest until I get me a Supercrew Ranger!!!!:headbang:

I guess what my question here is, has anyone actually attempted to import a Supercrew Ranger before from, say, Argentina or Mexico? I want my little wetback Ranger:D

Probably won't allow them due to emission controls...or lack thereof...I've seen discussions on this before and it came down to the fact that most countries standards don't even come close to Canada or USA...

When my niece moved to SC she brought her Ford Windstar...they made her disable the daytime running lights, but the emissions were on par so no biggies for her...but it did cost her something like $200 to have a Ford tech undo a connector on the headlamps...I thought that wasa a bit excessive...so I can only imagine what it would cost to upgrade the emissions...

you have would have to see first if you even have to smog a diesel in your state? which I'm sure in most states its impossible to put emissions on a diesel considering they shoot black soot into the air as normal driving.

but please man if you do get one of those ranger you will have to let me know how you got it and how much it cost?

I just bought the wife a 2002 Sport Trac. It is just like a Crewcab Ranger. Four opening doors, a full back seat with audio and heat controls, and small bed. Even uses the same 4.0 and drivetrain.

I get the feeling you don't know a whole lot about diesels? They have just as much emission control stuff as gas cars do and sometimes more. A ton of black soot is usually indicative of a poorly tuned or maintained engine too - most diesels don't smoke a whole lot.

I know nothing about them yet I'am very curious about them?

There used to be a kid at my school(when I was in high school) and he would always drive his dads PSD. When he would leave school I would get a kick out of it because of course being a teenager has to punch it to get as fast away from school as possible. But it was really funny because all the kids that didnt drive yet, walking on the sidewalk to go to the city bus stop. Then I would see this monstrous diesel come by and engulf all the side walkers with a big puff of black smoke.

mmm ive seen a few of em in az... there alright lookin.. i just want one with a diesel..

After my last trip to Mexico I decided I need one too. The research I did basically concluded that you can't pass a safety inspection with them becaus the A-pillars aren't up to standard.

Internal cage it maybe?

True, a Sport Trac would be an option, but at the end of the day, I WANT TO DRIVE A RANGER!!!! IMO, the ranger has that MANLY look, a truck for people who want to go off road, to use for work, or to cruise. While the Sport Trac has the "I'm driving my kids down to Soccer Practice" look. Now, don't get me wrong, the Sport Trac is nice, but it ain't the Ranger brand I fell in love with in the summer of 92!
Besides, do they even offer Sport Tracs with a diesel engine?

no way sport tracs are explorer straight soccer mom vehicle, a guy has one out where I live he lifted it and what not it looks ridiculous. ranger all the way(specially diesel!)
