Alright me and my father in law did head gastkets and the rest up on my 4.0 from a 96 ford ranger, everything went went nice a smooth, the only problem is when we went to start it, the egr tube and egr valve is off it due to being rotten and we are waiting on an order of those parts to come in monday. The problem is when it start the tach will jump suddenly to about 3500-4000 then drop down to about 500rpm then die, could that be because the vacuum lines for the egr feedback and solenoid arnt hooked up with the egr and i have a gapping hold from the egr tube in the exhaust? if replacing those parts dont fix im gnna go through the G.A.S diagnosing process and find out whats causing it but any insight on this would be great, (G.A.S = gas, air, sensors)
