super charger??

trying to super charge my 2007 3.0 v6 automatic ranger any suggestions i can not find any super chargers that would be compatible i would really appreciate any help i can get im pretty sure that it can be done thanks

Why do you want to supercharge it? I'm sure it can be done but everything that I've read about the 3.0 seems to indicate that it doesn't really respond well to such modifications as superchargers/turbochargers plus it costs a fortune to get it right. That plus the 'strength' of the stock 3.0 is it's longevity. That's even mentioned in the link as it says "This engine has become very well-known for its durability, and is common to find engines running strong at 300,000 miles and beyond." Supercharging it would likely diminish that durability. That probably explains why there is so little available for it as far as performance mods go. It would probably be much cheaper and more effective to just do an engine swap like a 4.0 or even a V8.

Forced induction is putting more air into the intake allowing more fuel to be added, and more fuel = more power

Turbo charging uses exhaust velocity to spin a compressor forcing more air into the intake.

Super charger uses a pulley and belt run from crankshaft to spin a compressor forcing more air into the intake.

Super charger is less efficient than turbo because it takes horse power away from engine to run compressor, but power increase is about the same.
Super charging is less expensive and can often meet local emission requirements.

Morana Racing offers Vulcan 3.0l super chargers.

Yes, problems faced with any Forced Induction is the increase in power on the lower end of the engine can exceed it's specs pretty fast.
Super charger boost is based on pulley size, smaller pulley = more boost = higher pressure on bottom end.

At what point a bottom end part will give out is engine specific, but the less boost you use the better the survival chances.

Ranger 3.0l rates 155 horse power
Ranger 4.0l SOHC rates 207 horse power
Explorer 5.0l V8 rated 220 horse power

IMO, selling your 2007 3.0l and buying a 4.0l SOHC Ranger might be a better option, to increase performance.

The reason there are not alot of 3.0l power upgrades is that it is a middle ground engine.
4 cylinders are better to turbo charge since you get the better MPG in around town driving and better power increase with turbo on line.

V8s are better for super or turbo charging since they start with a higher horse power and many upgrade/stronger parts are available.

The 3.0l just won't be that powerful for the money spent, maybe 50 horse power increase, so 205 HP, which is 33% increase so good numbers but bottom end can fail anytime and 4.0l SOHC is 207HP stock
