just thought i'd throw up some pics of the truck my dad gave me this summer to have some fun in. specs: 91 ranger xlt. 4.0 auto with 280,000 on the clock. never cared for haha. dad just drove the balls off of it cuz it was good on gas. and yes, she burns posi with 33's or 35's. we were gonna try 38.5 gumbos but we cooked the tranny before we got that chance!

cooked the tranny?

now....how do you suppose THAT happened.....(cough, cough, gag, air---need fresh air!)

anyhow....glad you're having a good time with it....(just be careful........................................................................try not to grow up...it costs to have that kind of fun as you get older................. :yahoo:

:icon_rofl:

well actually it had never, ever had tranny problems... until we got it really hot and apparently it was leaking a little fluid and caught fire. when we pulled it up to the garden hose the exhaust manifolds were glowing in the middle of the day... good times though!

you're an idiot.... bring me the truck and i'll show some love on it..

it wasn't safe to drive on the road anymore so my dad gave it to me and my best friends to beat on in the field and to do burnouts with. i don't think that makes us idiots. i think it makes us smart for keeping it off the road, having our fun, and scrapping it before anyone got hurt.

why was it not safe for the road?

rust holes in the frame around the leaf hangers and shock mounts. really bad on the pass. side. body mounts were in bad shape. the bottom of the core support almost completely rusted off so we just finished cutting it out, cab corners so bad you could see the road on both sides. exhaust y pipe rusted apart. there pretty much wasn't anything left good on the truck, and after we realized how bad the frame was we knew it was time for it to go

then i retract my statement... kinda. could have parted it out lol. i just don't see the point in killing stuff that still runs. b/c drivetrain was still good, must have been. but that's my personal opinion.

ya honestly i thought about keeping the 4.0, but i would have wanted to rebuild it because my dad didn't take care of it, so i just said hell with it. free truck. plus it kept me from beating on my dd all summer so i could afford to get some long awaited things done on that.

I think it looks like a good time! You do whatever you wanna do with your truck, I've done my share of burnouts in my truck...

haha yeah i have to in my dd, but after my shocks went bad and it started wheel hopping, i pretty much got over that. too scared to break somethin. now the shocks are fixed but i have finally realized what dd means lol so i quit beatin on her. btw my dd is the red one in my avatar

put that 4.0 in your dd man. that'd be the best use for it!
rebuild it, and it'll be a great motor i'm sure.. the 4.0 in a first gen is just awesome.

I agree. Just take the 4.0 out then scrap the truck so you'll have some good money to start with.

Some people are just too stupid to live.
