Summary thoughts

Would have helped if I could have made it there Friday like I had planned, lol

Had an absolute blast. KaP performed so much better than I anticipated. I was expecting to walk into a frame-destroying deathtrap and to take home shattered remains of my daily. But surprisingly, I managed to only slow down when I had to move my stoopid intake pipe, and to an abrupt halt when I hit my new nemesis, sand.

Was awesome to meet my tormentors (kidding!), and put faces to names.

Agreed with the crusher comment as well. If not for TRS, my truck would have been "recycled" by now.

I'm in for any/all future events, no matter where they are.

Oh, and to the voice in the crowd when I won the axle swap kit, yes, I do need it for a 2.9. ???

It was great to see people get together, have fun wheeling, and then sit around a campfire. It's been years.

I was happy with the turnout. Especially since it was the weekend right after labor day.

The economy tanked around 2007, and it was hard to get people to show up for a Trail ride. It gets discouraging trying to put together a trail ride, and then not get very many people to show up.

The only good thing about doing it in Ohio is that I can visit family while I'm there. The bad part is that park is only open the 1st weekend of the month.

I'd like to do it again, I'm just not sure where. I'd like to do a spring break run here in Texas, but I realize that's to far for most of you.

I’d be willing to do a Texas run, but I’m probably going to need a year to be in a position to pull it off. Something closer would be easier until I’m better set up for things

ILLINOIS FOR THE NEXT MEET!!!!

Why? So your Thunderchicken Ranger has a chance of getting there with 80% of its parts intact? ?

There's probably abandoned parts of Chicago we can turn into an off-road Park, and nobody will care.

Or take up a donation, buy 10 city blocks of Detroit for $500 and turn it into the TRS off-road Park.

Hell, for that money we can probably buy an old GM assembly plant. Would be fun.

23 hours to Texas... I don't think I'll be making it to that one.

Roanoke is closer than Ohio...

Not sure I will be ready for another big trip that fast though, next fall has a better chance.

I really need to figure out how to get new tires for these big trips. The ol' Firestones did great and I have no complaints... but they are old.

Treadwright?

They are on the list of possibles but as I have never actually worn a set of tires out on the Ranger longevity (staying together over time) is a concern too.

The big snag is my F-150 like really needs tires, my Ranger's tires are just old. And gone are the days where you can find a like new set of 31's for $400 like I did last time...

Not $400 a set... but $121 each after rebate. Probably as close as you will get for a made in America tire.

I put a set on my truck... haven't been off road... but they really surprised me rolling down the road. I'm certain they will do everything I want off road...
